Origin story
Why Tervynex, why these problems
Fifteen-plus years in L&D and technology taught us the same lesson, over and over. The industry knows exactly what is broken. People say so loudly, at conference after conference and in vendor call after vendor call. The platforms with the resources to actually fix it will not.
Tervynex exists because we got tired of waiting on someone else to do it. We did not start with a feature list. We started by researching which gaps were costing teams the most time and producing the least visible value, then built for those first. Some of our products will look familiar next to what is already on the market. Look closer and you will find the specific things practitioners have been asking vendors for, year after year, that the big platforms had every reason to build and consistently left unaddressed.
We measure what we improve. We do not guess at it. The hours we save go back to the person doing the real work, not into another workaround.

Tervynex draws on four ideas: terra, or terrain, understanding a client's operating environment; velocity, faster workflows and execution; nexus, connecting data, AI, content, and business systems; and next, modern transformation.

John Gombocs / Founder & CEO
Fifteen years challenging the way organizations build, train, govern, and perform. Now building the technology to change it.
John Gombocs did not enter technology through a conventional path. His career began in the U.S. Military Special Operations Command and continued in the Staff Judge Advocate's office as a fraud investigator. That experience led him into data recovery and digital forensics, where he began developing software to solve problems existing technology could not solve. When those solutions created a need for specialized training, he took responsibility for building that capability as well. What began as a technical necessity evolved into a fifteen-year career transforming how organizations develop talent, manage knowledge, and improve operational performance.
Across professional services, technology, healthcare, and SaaS, John has built and led learning, performance, and compliance functions, directed international teams, and developed technology that addresses operational problems at their source. His work extends beyond traditional learning and development into software architecture, workflow automation, AI-assisted systems, and operational governance. He has consistently approached organizational challenges from both sides, building the technology to improve performance and establishing the people, processes, and controls required to sustain it.
That background became the foundation for Tervynex Technologies, Inc. John founded the company to move beyond identifying persistent business problems and develop practical, intelligent technology that addresses them.
He holds a BS in Legal Sciences and an MBA, teaches at the higher education level, and is based in Tampa, Florida.
His founding philosophy is direct. If the technology needed to solve a problem does not exist, build it. If the process is broken, redesign it. If the solution cannot demonstrate measurable value, it is not finished.
That background maps directly to what Tervynex is built around. A person who has assessed capability under operational pressure in a military context, investigated fraud by reading what documents reveal and conceal, and spent fifteen years watching organizations struggle to develop the people they already have understands what "recognizing capability" actually requires. It is not a tagline. It is the specific problem each product in this company is designed to address.
Duvan Cruz / Co-Founder, Vice President & Chief Software Engineering Officer
From telecommunications infrastructure to AI-powered assistance, architecting systems that anticipate user needs.
Duvan Cruz built a twenty-year career in telecommunications engineering, mobile networks, and software development, progressing from support engineer to leadership roles managing complex technical teams and operations. That technical foundation led him toward designing software solutions, a transition that led him to co-found Tervynex Technologies.
He has specialized in building real-time user assistance platforms leveraging artificial intelligence and SaaS technology, including intelligent chatbots, technical support systems, and dynamic ticket management solutions that enhance user experience and streamline support operations at scale. His work across telecommunications, virtual events platforms, and enterprise systems built around architecting tools that empower users and support teams through thoughtful technology design.
He holds a BS in Telecommunications Engineering and a Master's degree in Wireless Telecommunications. His technical expertise spans Python, Node.js, SQL, modern web frameworks, full-stack development, cloud-native architectures, NoSQL databases, AI and GPT-4 systems, system administration, and automation. He works fluently across technical and business contexts in both Spanish and English, and is based in Colombia.
